Something very positive is happening in cities at the moment: growing numbers of inhabitants are getting involved with professionals in shaping their local environment. As a result, facilitation skills in the local engagement context is an essential
career skill for an architect. It can be very useful if you need to dialogue with social scientists and artists who will research about and engage with the local community of your project or if you want to increase the vision of your own role
as an architect and be able to do it by yourself.
In this course, you will learn about frameworks of participatory projects, you will be introduced to the stages of the process, you will be able to define a fieldwork and to identify and gather urban actors. After sharing with you some creative
tools I have been using for my own projects, we will finally explore three scales of urban spaces, where you can implement your project and trigger local engagement. If you want to stand out in being a facilitator for urban engagement, here
you have my tips.
The course is structured as follow:
Module 1 / Frameworks
Module 2 / Action
2.3. Creative Tools
Module 3 / Scaling
3.3. Building Together
