As an architect, I have always found that there is a real difference between the reality of the plans and the reality of a building site. The architect is often disconnected from the mode of construction and will draw without really understanding
the impacts on the people who build.
Since I started this project, named Degré 47, I learned a lot about how we could adapt constructive means to simplify construction and make it accessible. I chose to express this theme by making it concrete through a construction material that
is still too little visible in construction: straw insulation. We will discuss several concepts, from the most general to the most concrete: the different criteria to take into account when you want to insulate a home, how to choose the type
of construction method, and what are the advantages of using straw insulation in a project,.
